I’m Bret Carmichael. I live in the United States, and I write Graymatter.

I’ve worked at multiple tech companies and spent several years at Liberty Mutual where my responsibilities ranged from business analysis to leading Agile and DevOps organizational transformations and software development teams. Currently, I own a branding and technology agency where I partner with mid-sized companies to develop brand systems that enable them to access larger customer audiences through problem-solving messaging and technology.

I write all Graymatter articles. I may use AI to correct typographical errors. I may also use AI tools to produce audio versions of Graymatter articles for accessibility. That is the limit of AI’s use on Graymatter.

I don’t do sponsored posts. While I have investment accounts, they’re managed by a third party. I do not buy, sell, or trade stock. Neither do I give investment advice, nor should anything I say be interpreted as investment advice.

Sometimes, I get things wrong. When I do get something wrong, or my perspective on something changes, I’ll call attention to it and deliver a prominent retraction if necessary.
